Challenge your perceptions of sustainability through a unique creative platform and restaurant Eat Green Design, presented by the Powerhouse Museum in partnership with Collaborate.
The vision of Cilla Maden of Collaborate, Eat Green Design is a place for discovering cutting-edge ecological principles and for sustainable practice in design. It’s a place to meet; it’s a specially-designed and built venue inside the Museum for talks, events, products, ideas as well as a cup of coffee or a delicious meal.
Eat Green Design has been designed and purpose-built by award-winning architect Hannah Tribe of Tribe Studio, Surry Hills. It also showcases a selection of innovative, sustainable products from independent and emerging eco-designers around Australia including Design By Them, Simon Duff, Toby Horrocks, Lightly, Spaceleft and ISM Objects. Limited edition pieces created for Eat Green Design will be available for purchase at Young Blood: Designers Market.
The Eat Green Design project serves to investigate, uncover and make transparent the ‘whole-system’ behind design. It demonstrates how sustainability does not compromise design aesthetic or value, but in fact adds a level of sophistication to the design agenda.
A stimulating line-up of guest speakers talking about sustainable business, living, lifestyle design and architecture will feature at the breakfast and dinners (bookings are essential).
