Hi Studio Skinky,
Just thought I’d let you know that this is actually the fourth tortellini cushion I’ve bought from you. My sister and I bought 3 from you last year at the Young Blood Designers Markets. Everyone we’ve given them to has raved about them, and one of the little girls (now 12 months old) is so attached she won’t go anywhere without her cushion. They’ve been very successful presents.
A Wilson, Sydney
studio SKINKY has recently completed a commission for the new Sydney restaurant Bloodwood. www.bloodwoodnewtown.com
The work consists of three steel and glass screens – one that is fixed, and two which can run along a track. The screens create a separation of space and cordon off a distinct area for those guest using in the private room, while allowing remaining restaurant patrons to flow easily through to the toilets.
The glass is of different colour shades, shapes and sizes. And it has been created using a selection of empty glass bottles sourced the restaurants own consumption.

After the drink
John Skinner recycles and reshapes discarded glass bottles to create his After the drink collections. By using traditional glass blowing techniques, John reinterprets everyday objects, and in doing so, references our desire to put together objects for unique groupings.
John Skinner is one half of the visual arts practice studio SKINKY (a collaborative project in partnership with his wife SeoRyung Lee) . And his After the drink bottle collections are a further exploration into studio SKINKY’s notions of sustainable living.
